What is the Double Degree?
The Double Bachelor's Degree in Early Years Education and Primary Education, with specialisations in Foreign Languages and Remedial Education at Comillas CIHS, is an official five-year on-campus dual degree programme (362 ECTS) taught at the Cantoblanco Campus (Madrid), enabling students to obtain both theBachelor's Degree in Early Years Educationand a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education. This teacher training degree programme qualifies graduates to work as teachers in both Early Years Education ( 0–6 years) and Primary Education (6–12 years), in state, state-subsidised and private schools.
It is aimed at those with a vocation for teaching who are interested in the intellectual, personal, creative and social development of children from their first days at school until they start secondary education. It is an ideal choice for those who wish to become early years and primary school teachers with specific training in bilingualism and supporting diversity.
The curriculum includes two specialisations:Foreign Language (English), using the CLIL/AICLE methodology to teach subjects in English, andSpecial Educational Needs, focused on supportingpupils with special educational needs. Studentsundertake teaching placements from the first year onwards, with the option of international placements in the fourth year, and may also obtain the DECA (Ecclesiastical Declaration of Academic Competence).
Requiring just one additional year of study compared to a standard Bachelor's Degree in Teaching, this dual Bachelor's Degree in Early Years and Primary Educationawards two official qualifications and qualifies graduates to sit the competitive examinations for four teaching specialisms (Early Years teacher, Primary teacher, English teacher and Therapeutic Pedagogy teacher), thereby significantly expanding career prospects compared to a single degree.
Furthermore, students complete their training with a Diploma in Communication Skills andforeign language studies at the Institute of Modern Languages (IIM), thereby strengthening their linguistic proficiency and their teaching and professional skills as part ofComillas’ range of Bachelor's Degrees in Education .

This is a 30 ECTS specialisation that trains students to address diversity and learning difficulties: specific learning difficulties , sensory and motor disabilities, behavioural problems and pervasive developmental disorders, and educational resources for pupils with disabilities. It qualifies graduates to work as therapeutic pedagogy teachers in schools.
To broaden the teaching profile to include secondary and sixth-form education and to specialise in educational guidance, Comillas offers the Double Master’s Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education and Sixth-Form Education + Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology as a natural progression from the double Bachelor's Degree.
