Once again, the university has dressed up to celebrate the graduation of its students who, with hard work, have made it to the next phase, that of the labour market, maturity and leadership. Now, they are going to deal with another phase in which, as Adriana Domínguez, executive president at Adolfo Domínguez and patroness of this class, warned them, they must have good instinct, heart, head and luck. “Life is strange,” she told the students, “and it may take you down paths that were not in your plans.”
The E-4 alumni, who compared life’s trajectory to the evolution of a perfume when it’s applied to the skin, claimed that “at ICADE, you enter the world with a culture of effort, of excellence,” and “you have to believe in yourself, because if you don’t, you will not make it”. She also warned those present about fortune and success: “if you are fortunate enough to be successful and everyone believes in you, you must lower your value so that you do not lose your head in adulation.”
Rocío Velilla, student of the Dual Degree Program in Business Administration and Management and Business Analytics (E-2 + Analytics), also spoke about the future, urging people to be "proactive" and “non-conformist", and to be "the competent, conscious, critical and compassionate leaders that the world needs".
Velilla, the first student to speak of all the students who will participate representing their faculties, used the characteristic tile of the university as the main thread of her speech. She thanked Comillas for the education and knowledge they are leaving with, and talked about the lecturers, "mentors who have taught us the true value of excellence through their commitment and dedication". "We leave with the great responsibility of sharing what we have learned, to always put it at the service of society", said Velilla, who did not hesitate to say that "at Comillas, tradition coexists with renovation and improvement".
These were also the terms used by the Rector in his speech, which was based on the Autobiography of St. Ignatius. “At Comillas, we value humanity, humility, generosity, work and effort. At Comillas we value gratitude, compassion, harmony and loyalty”. Sanz listed the novelties at Comillas: Madrid Culinary Campus, Advantere, Mobios Lab and the Specialist Degree in Ecclesiastical Assets Administration at the Faculty of Canon Law, among other things. He highlighted the excellent results of Comillas in the different national and international rankings and invited the alumni to be women and men for others, "to always be conscious, competent, compassionate and committed men and women".
