Comillas is runner-up in the XVII edition of the UNIJES Debate League
From 22 to 24 February 2024, the Universidad Loyola hosted the 17th edition of the UNIJES Debate League at its Dos Hermanas Campus in Seville

More than 100 participants from the Debate Clubs of the entire network of Jesuit centres and universities, as well as other invited institutions, debated the question: Will Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) pose a threat to humanity? A topical issue, surrounded by uncertainty and open to discussion.
Following the Ignatian debate model, seven Jesuit institutions took part in this meeting: Deusto, Comillas, ESADE, the San Agustín and Loyola Residences, the SAFA Foundation and Loyola University, as well as two guest universities: Pablo Olavide and the Dilema Debate Club.
The teams were welcomed by Javier Nó, Vice Rector for Teaching and Internationalisation of the Universidad Loyola, who stressed the importance of debating with respect and understanding.
The group phase, consisting of five rounds played on 22 and 23 February, left room for the occasional coffee break, to enjoy the company and strengthen the ties that unite the universities belonging to the UNIJES network.
On the last day, they returned to the campus to celebrate the final between Comillas and CMU Loyola. The finalist teams demonstrated, once again, their oratory skills, respect and agility.
