Comillas celebrated the conclusion of the training programmes offered by the Chair in Gastronomy, Culinary Innovation and Sustainability, developed in collaboration with the Madrid City Council and the Madrid Culinary Campus (MACC). The courses Los números en la cocina and Innovación y Gestión Empresarial para el futuro en el sector gastronómico —the latter aimed especially at professionals from SMEs in the sector—have made it possible to bring specialised training to both job seekers and those who wish to continue growing within the profession.

The event was chaired by Antonio Obregón, executive director of the MACC, and attended by representatives from the City Council and the Agencia para el Empleo. The General Director of Trade and Hospitality, Olga Ruiz Castillo, emphasised the value of this collaboration, "empowering unemployed people with excellent training" and added that, for professionals in the sector, initiatives such as this "reinforce key skills in an increasingly competitive and innovative environment". She also pointed out that gastronomy "is also managed, innovated and projected towards a more sustainable future".
For her part, Virtudes Laguna de Amo, Director of the Escuela de Hostelería y Alimentación, thanked "the students for their efforts" and celebrated the fact that this first experience "opens the door to new collaborations" that will allow more students to access training accredited by Comillas.
The director of the chair, Manuel Morales Contreras, highlighted the involvement of the students and announced that the chair is already making progress on research projects on business management in the field of gastronomy: "Congratulations to those of you who are graduating today; we hope to count on you in future initiatives."
The end of the academic year, rather than a closing ceremony, marks the beginning of new opportunities for those seeking to build their professional future and also for professionals who wish to continue developing and improving their businesses in a sector undergoing rapid transformation.
