Comillas and the Pablo VI Foundation sign a collaboration agreement to carry out research projects on key issues of public and citizen debate
14 November 2024
Comillas Pontifical University, through the José María Martín Patino Chair, has signed an agreement with the Pablo VI Foundation. This agreement includes the collaboration that both institutions will carry out research projects and studies in the field of political science and sociology on decisive issues in public life and debate.
This general framework of collaboration is specified, without excluding other activities, in the joint monitoring of the evolution of the culture of encounter in Spain, in the elaboration of a Culture of Encounter Index based on primary data obtained from ad hoc quantitative and qualitative studies, and in the publication of studies and research on the culture of encounter and the presentation of their results.
In a context of "epochal change", as some authors point out, the José María Martin Patino Chair stands as a space for rigorous and multidisciplinary analysis of some of the great common problems of society, as a place for dialogue and open and frank encounters, and for the promotion of social participation as a key element of a new citizenship.
Created in 1986, the Paul VI Foundation, for its part, pursues the promotion of a more human leadership based on the Social Doctrine of the Church, the encounter with science and culture, and a faith in permanent dialogue with the world.
