Summer Course: Healing Trauma: Challenges and Innovations from Different Psychotherapeutic Approaches
This course offers an in-depth exploration of the various psychotherapeutic perspectives for the treatment of trauma, a topic of growing relevance in contemporary mental health. With a practical and theoretical approach, participants will learn to integrate different psychotherapeutic approaches in the treatment of the effects of trauma, from psychoanalysis to humanistic and cognitive-behavioural therapies. In addition, this course promotes the exchange of ideas and collaboration between professionals from different disciplines, enriching learning in a multidisciplinary environment.

Course Description
- Duration: 2 weeks . The course is made up of 4 modules, each focusing on a different psychotherapeutic approach.
- Credits: 5 ECTS.
- Language: Spanish.

- Requirements: students who are studying a degree, preferably between the second and third year. If the course is taught in English, a minimum B2 certificate in this language will be required.

Day 1: The systemic perspective on the individual and transgenerational impact of trauma.
Day 2: Trauma and its impact on the family and community from a systemic perspective.
Healing Trauma: Challenges and Innovations from a Cognitive-Behavioural Approach
Day 1: Trauma in children and adolescents: understanding and clinical intervention from a cognitive-behavioural perspective.
Day 2: Trauma treatment through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Healing Trauma: Challenges and Innovations from Emotion-Focused and Humanistic Experiential Therapy
Day 1: Complex trauma and types of emotions. Emotion-focused tasks to address trauma: trauma retelling, compassionate self-soothing, and trauma grief treatment.
Day 2: Presence and therapeutic relationship in trauma. Humanistic perspective in the integration of techniques for trauma: brainspotting, internal family systems, EMDR, Ericksonian hypnosis, somatic approach, polyvagal theory, and bodywork.
Healing Trauma: Challenges and Innovations from Contemporary Psychoanalysis
Day 1: Trauma and disorganization: contemporary approaches to trauma clinic from an attachment-centered perspective.
Day 2: Trauma, dissociation, and enactment: working within the therapeutic relationship to help the affected patient.
