The university has instituted its III Equality Plan with 40 cross-cutting measures
9 June 2023
Comillas Pontifical University is firmly committed to equal opportunities, equal treatment of men and women, and to non-discrimination. That is why, according to the Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March 2023, the university has instituted its III Equality Plan in which are included cross-cutting measures to ensure that equality between women and men is real and effective.
This III Equality Plan is an ambitious project, that aims to achieve a total of 40 measures that will be implemented with the main objective of continuing to guarantee equal opportunities within the university. Among the measures envisaged are: ensuring that internal management processes are carried out with equal treatment and opportunities, the maintenance of these principles, and the detection and elimination of possible imbalances.
As a novelty, the III Equality Plan takes into account the figure of the equality delegate/officer who will act as a guarantor of compliance with the commitments acquired in matters of equality and respect for sexual and gender identity, and will act as a link between the university's governing bodies and the staff in matters of equality. This person can be contacted via email at igualdad@comillas.edu.
The Equality plan counts on an Equality Commission that will be in charge to keep track and guarantee its compliance. Juan Carlos Gortázar, from the Human Resources Service; Ana García, from the Organisation and People Office and Angelo Valastro and Carmen Valor as members of the works council, make up the equality commission.
