A Master´s Degree that will enable you to exercise as a Teacher in Schools and Institutes
The Master's Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Sixth Form Teaching qualifies students to work as teachers in private and state schools at these two educational levels. The aim of this master's degree is to complete the degree training in subjects specific to the teaching profession. To this end, it provides a solid training in the psychology of adolescence, didactics, methodology, educational legislation, knowledge and use of technological resources, attention to diversity, tutoring and educational organization, all within a culture of collaboration and work in teaching teams.
Within the programme, practical experience of at least 150 hours is a cornerstone of the training of future teachers. The aim is for the master’s degree students to obtain a reflexive and critical experience of the educational praxis in the school environment through their participation in the life of the centre, always accompanied and assisted by a tutor of their speciality.

Admission process and criteria:
Regarding the admission process, the following is required:
- Being admitted by the Dean of the School or the relevant Director of the Centre, assisted by the Delegate Committee on Admissions.
- Having applied for the programme in the appropriate manner and time, through a standard model and accompanied by all of the documents which certify the fulfilment of the entry requirements.
- Passing the corresponding admission tests.

Applicant Profile/Requirements and Documentation
The Official Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary and Pre-university Education is addressed to Graduates who wish to teach in the educational levels of Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachillerato. Completing this programme is a mandatory requirement if you are interested in teaching in these educational stages.
The objective of this Master's Degree is completing the Graduates' training in those courses specific to the teaching profession. To do so, solid training in adolescent psychology, didactics and educational methodology and organisation will be provided, framed within the culture of collaboration and work in teaching teams.
Being in possession of a Licenciatura (four or five-year) Degree, an Architect Degree or an Engineer Degree pursuant the previous regulations no longer valid after Royal Decree RD 1393/2007.came into force. . If the student holds a Diplomatura (three-year) Degree, a Technical Architect Degree or a Technical Engineer Degree, they can access those Master programmes whose entry requirements so allow.
Students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or whose mother tongue is not Spanish must provide a certificate proving they have at least a B2 level of Spanish. If you do not hold said certificate, you must seat a level test organised by the University and pass it to be able to register in the Master's Degree.
In order to complete the Master's Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachillerato Teaching you must obtain those credits corresponding to the practicum. Pursuant to article 13.5 of the Act 26/2015, dated 28 July, modifying the system for the protection of children and adolescents, to undertake the practicum, it is required to submit at the University a certificate declaring that no sexual offence has been committed before the allocation of the school and the start date of the placement; the assigned school may also require said certificate to accept you as student on placement.

This Official Master's Degree gives access to PhD studies according to current regulations and enables the student to work as a teacher in the levels of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Bachillerato (non-compulsory secondary education), Vocational Training and Official Language Schools. This programme is an essential requirement to teach at these two educational levels from the academic year 2009-2010.

Graduates of the Master's Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachillerato Teaching are professionals with a solid training that combines psycho-pedagogical, educational, methodological and technological knowledge with a motivating teaching style that allows both the comprehensive attention for students from ESO, Bachillerato, Vocational Training and Official Language Schools and the work in teaching teams and individual and family tutoring. This profile has been analysed by the different Monitoring Commissions of the Master's Degree.
