Academic innovation as the driving force behind teaching at Comillas
The 6th Conference on Teaching Innovation brought together teachers to share experiences and explore new methodologies
12 January 2026
Innovation, continuous change and seeking ways to adapt to social needs are key to providing our students with an education of the highest possible academic quality. With this premise always in mind, the Teaching Innovation Support Service held the 6th edition of its Teaching Innovation Conference, a meeting that brought together teachers from all faculties to present projects, exchange experiences and explore new methodologies that transform university teaching.

The day was notable for the variety of topics and approaches, from active methodologies and challenge-based learning to the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence. Each proposal, in addition to showcasing good practices, served as a starting point to reflect on how students learn and how to improve teaching in a context of constant change.
During the opening, the vice-rector for Strategy, Internationalisation and Academic Structuring, Elisa Aracil, stressed that teaching innovation is not optional or individual. "You do not accept the challenge of always doing what we have put in place now, but you consider that both teaching and the university need constant innovation and constant change... these conferences are not just a showcase, but an opportunity for dialogue, to talk and reflect together on how we teach and how we can do it better," she said.
In addition to being a point of learning, the event highlighted the teaching innovation projects that are already underway at Comillas, demonstrating how small improvements or new methodologies can transform the learning experience of students.
The conference concluded with a clear commitment to continue exploring new ideas and strategies, consolidating an environment in which teaching, creativity and innovation go hand in hand.
