With the arrival of summer, researchers and students from the Comillas Clinical Psychology Unit (UNINPSI) are stepping up their participation in some of the leading international psychology conferences, where they share the results of their research and strengthen the university’s presence at key scientific forums within the discipline.
At the end of June, Comillas researcher and lecturer Pepe Gamoneda chaired a symposium on Emotion-Focused Therapy at the annual conference of the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR), held this year in Japan, one of the leading international events in the field of psychotherapy research.
Throughout July, participation continued at the conference of the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISPS), where Macarena Sánchez-Izquierdo, Rocío Caballero, Paula Collazo and Jesús Oliver were honoured for implementing a protocol designed to combat the double discrimination and stigma affecting older people with severe mental disorders.
Meanwhile, the Department of Psychology was also represented at the 19th Congress of the Spanish Association for the Methodology of Behavioural Sciences (AEMCCO), held in Almería to mark the 40th anniversary of this field of study within Spanish higher education. At this conference, lecturers and students presented and collaborated on more than a dozen scientific papers, highlighting the department’s research activity and its commitment to methodological advances in psychology.
The summer’s scientific programme will conclude with the participation of several members of the department in the International Meeting of the Psychometric Society, which will take place in South Korea and bring together specialists from around the world in the field of psychological measurement.
This intense programme reflects UNINPSI’s commitment to high-quality research, connected to the international scientific community and aimed at generating knowledge that has an impact on society.
