Scenario and development of the project
This project was carried out at Fundación Juanjo Torrejón in Aranjuez (Madrid), a non-profit organisation whose mission is to offer a comprehensive response to the challenge of inequality and injustice so that all people can fully exercise their rights .
In this project, the students have worked through a practical and participatory approach in three fundamental areas: Childhood, adolescence and family; attention and care for the elderly; and support and shelter for integration .
The objectives have been to detect the needs in the institution by the students; to design, plan and direct interventions to provide effective solutions to the identified needs, being these measures in accordance with the possibilities of the users of the institution; and to evaluate the social impact on the community of the interventions carried out .
The specific problems that have been discovered are related to people at social risk who come to the Foundation on a daily basis, and it is very important to promote healthy habits and measures that help integration. Likewise, a service is offered to vulnerable elderly people and cooperative attention is given to immigrants, covering the specific needs they may have in relation to the health services of the population in which they live .
In addition, the project has included learning dynamics in which support material resources such as interactive videos, informative leaflets or practical workshops related to health education for the needs detected have also been included. Finally, in order to disseminate the information and have a wider reach, a podcast has been recorded as an informative tool.
