Comillas Pontifical University wanted to join in the celebration of International Women's Day with a programme of cultural, sporting and institutional activities, including workshops, conferences and exhibitions.

Comillas Bienestar organised several workshops dedicated to topics that focus on women, including pelvic floor and menopause. In addition to the workshops, posters have been installed in the hall of Alberto Aguilera, 23, paying tribute to the university's professional sportswomen, as well as a Pickleball day for women.

Also in the entrance hall, the Library Service has organised a bibliographic exhibition to commemorate the long struggle of women for their human rights, to raise awareness in the university community of the importance of fulfilling the 5th Sustainable Development Goal and to promote a collective effort.

The exhibition "Heura: 17 Stories of Resilient and Fighting Women Entrepreneurs", which can be visited in the clerestory of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) until 21 March, also offers an opportunity to make women's stories visible. With a fresh, innovative and immersive approach, this exhibition, which is touring several universities in Spain, shows 17 success stories of women with different profiles. Women who, being in a situation of vulnerability and risk of socio-economic exclusion, managed, with the support of the Treball organisation, to start up and consolidate businesses that have enabled them to become economically independent. Through photographs, visibility is given to their experiences, paths, challenges, learning and success, giving a positive message, avoiding pessimistic visions and misery, in which women are portrayed as they are: resilient and strong.

Giving voice to women's stories is also what the last episode of 1,2,3, Comillas does. In it, Sandra García, a Comillas alumni recognised by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence with the first prize for her doctoral thesis, talks about "Translation of judicial sentences and gender perspective".

At an institutional level, in order to stage the importance of the fight for equal rights, justice and gender equality, the university community gathered to listen to the CRUE declaration and to take a family photo.
