The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) has already awarded the ICADE Business Club Awards for research at Comillas to the best drafts of this third edition of the Research Hackathon, which was held from 30 May to 1 June this year.

A total of 67 lecturers participated in this competition, presenting a total of 21 papers. The jury awarded the first prize to the paper "Clustering Mutual funds based on ESG rating and performance: The winner does not always take it all!" by Natalia Cassinello and Ignacio Cervera. The article analyses the correlation between sustainability and performance in mutual funds. The research used a database of 14,000 funds domiciled in different parts of the world. The jury highlighted the pragmatism of the paper, the methodology used and the robustness of the sample used as the basis for the analysis.

The second prize was awarded to the work "Labor Market Index: Construction and Application to the Spanish Case" by Gustavo Álvarez Fernández, Gonzalo Gómez Bengoechea and David Roch Dupré. It talks about the creation of a unique index - the Synthetic Labour Market Index (SLMI) - that measures the labour market in a comprehensive manner. The jury considered the work to be original and solid.

The award ceremony was attended by Enrique Sanz, SJ, Rector of Comillas; Mª Teresa Corzo, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE); Jaime Pérez Renovales, representing the ICADE Business Club and the evaluation committee; and Antonio Albert, Manager of the ICADE Business Club.
