23 April 2024
The Faculty of Theology (Comillas CIHS) gave a warm farewell to Professor Fernando Rivas Rebaque after more than 25 years of teaching in the classrooms at Comillas. His last lesson was embraced by numerous members of the university community, including the dean of the Faculties of Theology and Canon Law, Francisco Ramírez, SJ, who accompanied and supported the teacher and point of reference in his last class.
"In praise of the Christian teacher" was the title of the speech delivered by St. Gregory the Thaumaturge as he said farewell to the School of Origen. Under this same title, the teacher Fernando Rivas said farewell to his students, after having contributed to their development both professionally and personally.
Rivas Rebaque has been a key figure in the Faculty of Theology, not only imparting knowledge inside the classrooms, but also as an active collaborator in several innovative projects of the university such as "Knowing the second century". With a tireless passion, the professor has combined his dedication to theology with a commitment to his students. Not only has he enriched the academic environment, but he has also contributed to the integral formation of his students, fostering a deeper understanding of the ethical and moral issues that form the basis of society. In this way, Rivas leaves an indelible mark on both his students and the academic community.
