Summer Course: Comparative Human Rights: Europe, the United States and Latin America

This course offers a comparative analysis of human rights in Europe, Latin America and the United States. It explores how international norms, despite their supposed universality, are interpreted and applied differently according to cultural and historical contexts. Through the study of the jurisprudence of the US Supreme Court, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights, it addresses issues such as freedom of expression, religion, reproductive rights, discrimination, torture and migration. In addition, a special section is dedicated to the comparative analysis of migration policies and their alignment with international law

Dates: 22 June to 17 July 2026.
