Comillas Pontifical University and the Catholic University of Pernambuco in Brazil have signed a collaboration agreement for volunteer projects with the Brazilian Jesuit NGO "Fé e Alegria".
Antonio Allende SJ, Rector of Comillas, and Pedro Rubens, Rector of the Catholic University of Pernambuco, signed the agreement at a meeting held on the Alberto Aguilera campus.
The volunteer projects, which have already been running for several years, are aimed at students and their accompanying PAS or PDI (Comillas Solidaria Network volunteers). The new agreement consolidates the relationship between the two universities and opens up the opportunity to extend the projects to the rest of the university community and to specific awareness-raising activities. The possibility of generating exchanges between the two universities will also be studied.
The volunteer programmes are part of the VUELA programme of Comillas Solidaria, and take place in the cities of Vaçantes (July) and Joao Pessoa (August).
