From inexperienced entrepreneurship to transforming the textile industry
The Sustainable Finance Observatory brings together companies, investment and young talent at Comillas, with sustainability as the central theme

How do you go from setting up a brand without having a clue... to rethinking an entire industry? This was one of the questions that hovered over the meeting organised by the Comillas ICADE Sustainable Finance Observatory, with the support of CaixaBank AM, in a session focused on the sustainable future of the textile sector.

The event featured the participation of Clemente Cebrián, co-founder of El Ganso and Tintoremus, who shared his entrepreneurial experience in a close and down-to-earth conversation. Moderated by Pablo Hernández de la Merced, Director of Sustainability at CaixaBank AM, the meeting made it clear that innovation is also learning as you go along.
Cebrián reviewed the beginnings of his career with ease: from setting up the project with few resources to making mistakes that, far from slowing them down, marked the path. "We had no idea", he acknowledged, highlighting something that especially connected with the students: starting without certainties is also part of the process.
But if anything marked the conversation, it was the evolution towards sustainability. From building a brand to rethinking how to produce, consume and understand fashion. A change of mentality that today translates into projects such as Tintoremus, where environmental impact is no longer an add-on, but the starting point.
In addition, during the event, the 4th Sustainable Finance Observatory Challenge was also held, in recognition of the talent of the students at Comillas:
- Winning project - Aguilera Capital
Mario Nieto García, Alberto Blanco Castillo, Ignacio Glera Torres and Cosme Sterling Estarta, students of the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Management and International Relations. - Runner-up - KAIZEN Team
María Bianca Dima Petrisor, Luis Delgado Olmedo, Nicolás Echeverría Oliete and Néstor Estévez Gómez, students of the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Management and Law.
A meeting that combined real experience, ideas and a lot of learning. One of those that remind you that entrepreneurship is not only about having a good idea, but also about knowing how to adapt, make mistakes... and try again.
