Comillas joins once again this year for World Breast Cancer Day with a solidarity action on all its campuses
The university community showed its support for research and people fighting cancer through a solidarity challenge in collaboration with the AECC

On the occasion of World Breast Cancer Day, celebrated on 19 October, Comillas once again united for a common cause: the fight against cancer. Students, faculty and staff from the different campuses, Alberto Aguilera, Cantoblanco, Paseo de la Habana, Ciempozuelos, Bormujos and INEA, participated in a joint photograph, dressed in pink clothing, the colour symbolising awareness of breast cancer.

The initiative, promoted by the university, aimed to pay tribute to all those who are fighting or have fought against this disease, while at the same time seeking to give visibility to other types of cancer and promote awareness and solidarity within the university community.
As part of the action, eight solidarity bracelets have been designed, each in a different colour representing a specific type of cancer. Available for a donation of 1 euro, they form part of the solidarity challenge in collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), and the proceeds will go entirely to research projects promoted by the association. The initial goal was to reach 1,000 euros, but thanks to the participation of the entire university community, the amount raised has already exceeded 1,159 euros.
The solidarity challenge remains open until 31 October, and the wristbands can be purchased at the following points of sale:
- Alberto Aguilera 23: gymnasium
- Cantoblanco: nursing office (building A)
- Paseo de la Habana, Ciempozuelos and Bormujos: information desks.
Pink tinged the Comillas campuses to remind us that solidarity can also be taught, learned and shared. Because together, every small gesture can make a difference.
