Comillas celebrates the award ceremony for the End of Degree Project Awards in Business Administration and Business Analytics 2023-24

An event that brought together the academic and business worlds and highlighted the work of the award-winning students

Comillas hosted the award ceremony for the End of Degree Projects in Business Administration and Management (ADE) and Business Analytics 2023/24. The ceremony was presided over by the Rector of the University, Antonio Allende SJ, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, Mª Teresa Corzo, and the Vice-Dean for Institutional Relations and Research, Javier Márquez.

The ceremony was attended by leading companies and organisations that awarded prizes to the best end of degree projects. These included ADEFAM, the Madrid Chapter of the ICJCE, the Asset Management Chair, EY, Iberdrola and Management Solutions. Representatives of these organisations were in charge of presenting the awards to the winning students.

The winners of this year's edition were:

  • ADEFAM Award: Inés Rodríguez, recognised for her work "El Impacto De La Inversión De Private Equity En El Desarrollo De Las Empresas Familiares En España", under the direction of Carlos de Abajo.
  • ICJCE Award: The award went to Paloma Isabel Porta, who presented the study entitled "Los Criterios ESG En Las Gestoras De Activos", directed by Raúl González.
  • Cátedra Asset Management Award: Inés Moreno stood out with her research  entitled "Global Interpretability of Machine Learning Models for Financial Risk Management: A Model Agnostic Approach", supervised by Jenny Alexandra Cifuentes.
  • Accesit Cátedra Asset Management: The accesit went to Álvaro Pérez, for his analysis "Elaboration of a climate risk beta", supervised by Mª Teresa Corzo.
  • EY Award: Alejandro Larrea received this award for his study "Market Efficiency In The Spanish Continuous Market: A Panel Event Study Of M&A Announcements", under the supervision of Alejandro Rodríguez.
  • EY runner-up: Beatriz Díaz received the runner-up prize for her work "Multi-Fidelity Bayesian Optimization For Deep Reinforcement Learning For Portfolio Management", supervised by Eduardo César Garrido.
  • Iberdrola Award: Álvaro Pérez was awarded for his research "Vientos De Cambio En Gran Canaria: Análisis Económico Y Evaluación Del Impacto Socioeconómico De Un Proyecto De Energía Eólica Marina Flotante" (Winds Of Change In Gran Canaria: Economic Analysis And Evaluation Of The Socioeconomic Impact Of A Floating Offshore Wind Energy Project), developed under the supervision of Francisco Borrás.
  • Management Solutions Award: Finally, Alejandra de la Rica was awarded for her project "Explainable Deep Reinforcement Learning in a Portfolio Management Framework", directed by Maria Coronado.
