Comillas celebrates the Javier Benjumea Awards Ceremony
With this award The National Association of ICAI Engineers recognised excellence and commitment in the field of engineering and innovation

With a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation and engineering, Comillas held the Javier Benjumea Awards ceremony, organised by the The National Association of ICAI Engineers. The event, which was held in the facilities of our school, was presided over by the rector of the university, Antonio Allende, SJ, who was accompanied by Isabel Reija, president of the association and the foundation, Javier Benjumea, representing the Benjumea family, and Antonio Muñoz, director of Comillas ICAI.
On this occasion, three outstanding professionals were recognised in different categories:
- Javier Benjumea Award (XXX edition): María Eugenia Girón, board member at CIE Automotive, CF Alba, Birks Group, Delaviuda and vice chair of Oceana.
- Entrepreneur Award (14th edition): Fernando Polo, co-founder and CEO of Good Rebels and president of Foro IA.
- Engineering with Purpose Award (1st edition): Andrés González-García, co-founder of Waya Energy and member of the Universal Energy Access Lab.
The event brought together academic authorities, members of the ICAI Engineers Association, students and family members of the award winners, in a celebration that recognised the professional and academic excellence of the winners.
