Carlos Ballesteros appointed member of the Spanish Sustainable Finance Council
This council includes leading figures from all spheres of Spanish society

Carlos Ballesteros, director of the Chair of Social Impact, has been appointed member of the Spanish Sustainable Finance Council, as a representative of the academy.
This council includes prominent members of Spanish society such as the CEO of ICEX, the President of COFIDES, the Governor of the Banco de España and the Secretary General of the Tesoro and International Financing, among others.
According to Ballesteros, this appointment recognises the work of the Chair of Social Impact in building an ecosystem of impact investment and sustainable finance, as well as his work of more than 25 years in promoting ethical banking and responsible finance in Spain.
The Spanish Sustainable Finance Council, created after the publication of the Green Paper on Sustainable Finance and recently regulated by ministerial order, includes among its functions to act as a forum for public-private collaboration, analyse regulatory challenges and opportunities, create knowledge and promote best practices for a sustainable and fair economy.
This council will play a crucial role in guiding policies and strategies to ensure that finance and investment contribute effectively to environmental and social sustainability, in line with the objectives of the European Union and Spain's Recovery Plan.
