The Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS), has launched a new Master's Degree in Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy for the 2025-26 academic year, directed by Carlos Pitillas. This programme is aimed at both recently graduated psychologists and professionals with years of experience, and seeks to train students in the use of the basic tools of evaluation and clinical intervention of contemporary psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with an integrated, informed and practical training offer in psychotherapy.
"This programme emphasises the acquisition of tools and theoretical models of the most contemporary psychoanalysis, without turning our backs on the classical psychoanalytic tradition. Here we will approach psychoanalysis from a perspective that is close to research, close to neuroscience and applicable to a whole series of contexts and particular and current clinical profiles," describes its director.
The methodology of the programme will be mixed, combining lectures with a practical part that includes simulations, case supervision and participation in programmes and institutions outside the university. "Our students will be able to practice psychotherapy in a wide range of contexts, including private therapy, community intervention and mental health," says Pitillas.
