Under the slogan "Incorporation of ESG factors in the valuation of physical and financial assets", the meeting brought together experts to reflect on the challenges and opportunities involved in the incorporation of these factors in asset management. The event was moderated by Enrique Marazuela, Director for Economic Affairs and Business Relations at Comillas, and included the participation of Cristina Álvarez, Director of SRI at CaixaBank AM, and Ibón Ruiz, Technical Sales Team Leader for EMEA at Copperleaf.
Álvarez pointed out that one of the main challenges in the valuation of financial assets is the lack of standardised and quality data, which hinders the effective integration of ESG factors in investment strategies. Ruiz analysed how these factors are gaining weight in the valuation of physical assets, such as those in the energy sector, and underlined the growing relevance of incorporating ESG criteria in these decisions.
This meeting reflected the importance of promoting dialogue between professionals to move towards a more sustainable financial system, highlighting the role of ESG factors as key elements in the transformation of asset management.
