Comillas Pontifical University has developed a quality plan that aims to promote a culture of quality and continual improvement with regard to the courses we offer, our teacher-support systems and university services; a plan that is strengthened through our active participation in a diverse range of quality programs.

Following the guidelines provided by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), Comillas Pontifical University participates in the following programs run by the national agency for external quality assurance in the Spanish higher education system (ANECA):

INSTITUTIONAL EVALUATION

  • INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION
Royal Decree 420/2015, of 29 May, establishes institutional accreditation as a further step in the accreditation of universities. Those centres that have obtained this institutional accreditation will be able to renew the accreditation of the official qualifications that they issue without the need to undergo the procedure outlined in the aforementioned Royal Decree. This enables universities to autonomously guarantee the quality of their qualifications and centres.
  • AUDIT
The purpose of this programme is to encourage and promote the development and implementation of internal quality assurance systems within Spanish universities, and to put into practice a procedure that leads towards the recognition and certification of said systems. The AUDIT programme is undertaken in 3 clearly defined stages: orientation of the design of the SGIC (Internal Quality Assurance System), certification of the design of the SGIC and certification of the implemented SGIC.

EVALUATION OF QUALIFICATIONS

EVALUATION OF TEACHING STAFF

  • PEP
The assessment program for hiring teaching staff (PEP) evaluates teaching and research activities, and the academic training of applicants for access to contracted university lecturer positions (contracted lecturer (with PhD), assistant lecturer (with PhD) and private university lecturer) as established in the Organic Law on Modification of the Organic Law on Universities (LOMLOU).
