Comillas Pontifical University Publications
About the editorial
Comillas Pontifical University Publications, attached to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Teaching Staff, focuses its activity on publishing publications related to the most relevant areas of knowledge for our University (Philosophy, Theology, Canon Law, Social Sciences, Education, Law, etc.), following recognised criteria of academic quality and using the best technological advances that help us to disseminate knowledge at a national and international level.
We publish and market collections of our own and co-published monographs, academic journals, teaching support texts and other periodical publications in both printed and digital format.
Our editorial collection is made up of collections that reflect our ongoing efforts to contribute to the impact of university work in the educational, scientific and cultural spheres. It is an example of the idiosyncrasy of our University, in which teaching work and university coexistence are seen through the prism of service to society.

EDITORIAL LINES
Through the different collections of books and periodicals, our editorial lines focus on the dissemination of research, support for teaching and the promotion of culture.
Comillas Pontifical University Publications also puts its experience in the field of publishing at the service of the university community and offers the possibility of producing publications on request for its own centres or those linked to Comillas.
Comillas Pontifical University Publications offers advice on defining the technical characteristics of the product and provides a detailed estimate to those users who are interested in making use of this service. Once the quotation has been accepted, the Publisher will be responsible for producing the book with professional publishing criteria and delivering it when it is finished to the agreed place.
Scientific publications
of a specialised nature, this line brings together monographs that present research results in the various areas of knowledge relevant to our institution (Philosophy, Theology, Canon Law, Social Sciences, Education, etc.). Its aim is to respond to the universities' commitment to the development of science and to stimulate the creation of works of scientific quality. They are governed by the criteria established by the CEA/APQ Quality Seal and are subject to a double-blind peer review process where the evaluators determine not only the quality of the content but also its interest for the community to which it is addressed. The publication of scientific journals falls within the same scope.
Teaching publications
publications designed for university teaching, intended for the academic support of students. Multidisciplinary in nature, they have a practical orientation for students of a given subject and serve the purpose of supporting teaching management, constituting the recommended bibliography of a subject. A departmental endorsement will be considered positively when applying for the publication of teaching texts. The original will be assessed by the member of the Editorial Board of the area most closely related to the subject of the book. If the report of the advisor is positive, having heard the director of the corresponding department, the Publisher will assume it as its own, allowing the publication to be carried out. In the event of a negative report, the Editorial Board must give its opinion on the matter, and other complementary opinions may be sought if deemed appropriate. Most of them will be collected in the Textos docentes collection.
Publications for cultural dissemination or creation:
The social projection of the knowledge produced within the university framework and the transfer of knowledge drives the publication of collections aimed at a more general public (readers with a medium-high cultural level, university students and teachers, secondary education, etc.), based on a rigorous concept of cultural dissemination. In addition to these collections, and as a facet of cultural dissemination, magazines are published on different disciplines of knowledge such as education or science. For the approval of this type of proposal, an internal and/or external report may be requested.
Institutional publications
texts linked to more strictly institutional activity (tribute books, honorary doctorates, inaugural lectures), as well as works dealing with historical and heritage aspects of the university institution. These publications, by their nature, do not require the blind peer review system.
Publish in Comillas
Comillas Pontifical University Publications publishes original works in fields of knowledge related to our teaching and research work that contribute to the dissemination of research, teaching and knowledge transfer, as well as to the promotion of culture, with the aim of achieving maximum dissemination and impact in our publishing production.
We structure our editorial catalogue in thematic collections that facilitate the dissemination and impact of the works. The original works submitted for publication will be chosen according to these collections. If a work does not fit thematically into these collections, it may be selected for publication as a non-collection title, following the same evaluation process as the rest of the manuscripts.

Publications & Catalogue
Comillas Pontifical University publications form a catalogue of titles related to the areas of knowledge most relevant to our institution (Philosophy, Theology, Canon Law, Social Sciences, etc.), published following recognised criteria of academic quality and using the best technological advances that help us to disseminate knowledge at a national and international level.
We publish and market collections of our own and co-published monographs, academic journals and other periodicals in both printed and digital format.
The collection of our publishing house is made up of a set of collections that reflect this ongoing effort to contribute to the university's own work in the educational, scientific and cultural spheres. It is an example of the idiosyncrasy of our University, in which teaching work and university coexistence are seen through the prism of service to society.
This catalogue is structured in two parts, the first of which contains all the collections on which the activity of our publishing house has focused in recent years, with a second part containing our historical collection with older collections, now closed, or some that have been updated, but all of them significant in our publishing work over the years.
