Summer Course: Key Challenges of Global Insecurity: A Spanish and European Perspective


The course aims to provide an analytical and advanced vision of the main security challenges in today's world and will address, within its scope and limits, the responses of the European Union, focusing also on the specific perspective of Spanish Foreign Policy. The course will be taught by highly specialised professors, as well as by think tank researchers and professionals from the European Union and Spain (Armed Forces, political decision-makers, among others). The course will include three external visits to the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN), the European Commission Representation in Spain and the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

Course description

  • Duration: 1 week.
  • Credits: 2,5 ECTS.
  • Languages: English.
  • Place: C/ Alberto Aguilera, 23, Madrid.
  • Requirements: The course is aimed at students in their final year of undergraduate studies or graduates in any area or discipline who are interested in international security issues or who are considering a career in International Relations or specifically in International Security Management. The course will be taught in English, so an official English language certificate of at least B2 is required.
