The Faculty of Law (Comillas ICADE) celebrated the X Anniversary of the Legal Clinic, in an event attended by numerous volunteers, students, alumni and staff of the faculty who have collaborated with the clinic during its first decade. The event counted on the presence of members from the Red Española de Clínicas Jurídicas.

The dean of the faculty, Abel Veiga, was in charge of opening the event. He reviewed the work that the Legal Clinic does in terms of social commitment and probono collaboration through social organisations. “You have brought law to the streets”, pointed the dean to explain the work of the clinic.

The director of the Legal Clinic, Isabel Lázaro, stressed that "a decade of a Legal Clinic shows a consolidated trajectory”. She recalled that “around 400 students pass each year through the clinic” (working with the clinic is part of the Law subject “Learning and Service”). She also evaluated some of the organisations the clinic works with, highlighting how the university benefits from these collaborations: “Through the clinic, a network of relationships is hatched with shared projects that provide a law school with a substratum of knowledge of real legal problems”.

The lecturer Íñigo Navarro, former dean of the faculty and in charge of starting up the clinic during his deanship, talked about the clinic’s evolution since its creation. Íñigo expressed his satisfaction with the team spirit that the clinic has created and promoted: “You have managed to have a group of people who breathe together, who feel together”. “You represent a tool for transformation” emphasised the former dean.

The former director of the clinic, Concepción Molina "Conchita", explained how the Legal Clinic was set up, taking other existing clinics in Spanish universities as a reference. Conchita recalled how the interest among the students was very high since its creation, highlighting “the students’ desire to participate in real law”.

The Faculty of Law used the celebration to present both directors with a plaque in recognition of their past and current work.
