The CYD Foundation has published the results of the tenth edition of the CYD Ranking, the ranking with the most complete information and the largest number of Spanish universities. There, Comillas is ranked as the first university in teaching and learning, and sixth overall. By areas, we have a solid first position in Law in Spain; third in Political Sciences and sixth in Business Administration and Management.
For the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS), Susanne M. Cadera, it is a source of pride that Comillas stands out in a discipline such as International Relations, given that it is a young field of study in Spain. "It is a recognition of the constant effort of the teaching staff, both in teaching and in research, and of the students who, with excellent results and success, enter the labour market", she confirms.
The studies in International Relations at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS) are part of the Political Science area, in which the university has achieved such a distinguished position for the first time. Comillas was a pioneer in the introduction of undergraduate studies in International Relations in 2009, with the Dual Degree Program in International Relations and Translation and Interpreting. In academic terms, the success of the degree led to the evolution of E-5, the Dual Degree Program in Law and International Relations; the birth of E-6, the Dual Degree Program in Business Administration and Management and International Relations, and the launch of the Dual Degree Program in International Relations and International Communication/ Bachelor's Degree in Global Communication.
Since then, Comillas has created the Department of International Relations, which is in charge of research and coordinates teaching, as well as the Comillas Journal of International Relations.
As Emilio Sáenz-Francés, director of the department, recalled, Comillas was the first Spanish university to introduce International Relations studies at undergraduate level. " This recognition by the CYD Ranking is the reflection of milestones such as the high employability of our graduates, and its quality, as well as the effort we have put into the internationalisation and practical training of our students. In a changing world in crisis, internationalists, specially those with a profile as complete as the ones who study at Comillas, are more necessary than ever," he concluded.
