The sports Unit (Comillas Comunidad), together with Comillas Alumni and the Organisation and People Office, organised a cycling route along section V of the Green Cycle Ring, following the riverbank of the Manzanares River to the Casa de Campo. A family plan to enjoy sport, nature and gastronomy, and in which members of the Administration and Services Staff, Teaching and Research Staff and alumni carried out a 12.5 km route.

The initiative has been very well received. Carmen Escudero, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE), took part in the route with her family, and says that she would love to see this type of activities consolidated. “It allows you to take part in an organised sports activity and networking with people from the university that you might not have met any other way”, she said.

For Juan Pedro Rodríguez Hernández, manager of the planning section of Empresarios Agrupados Internacionales and lecturer at Comillas ICAI, the route chosen was perfect in terms of duration and effort for a pleasant ride and to enjoy cycling and the green ring of Madrid. "I went with my 9-year-old daughter and she loved it. We would stop from time to time to wait for the stragglers, drink water and chat with the rest of the participants. We will surely repeat this or other initiatives that allow us to enjoy being outdoors doing sport with people from Comillas", he said.

Carolina Luaces, marketing director at renatta&go and alumni of the university, has the same opinion. She adds that “it is fortunate to be able to enjoy so many healthy and funny activities in such a great environment. Let's hope that a regular atmosphere of sporty alumni is created!"
