New educational and social conditions have created a demand for professionals in Educational and Psychopedagogical counseling and guidance, with specialized training and personal skills that allow these experts to become agents of educational change and social transformation, capable of inspiring, providing hope for the future and instilling commitment in diverse teaching teams.
Therefore, in order to define the skills and abilities inherent to this Postgraduate Degree, four areas of development and specialization have been taken into account: Professional Concerns, Personal Realm, Attention to Diversity and Support for Managing Educational Institutions.
Acquisition of specialized skills to become agents of change and social transformation
In order to acquire these academic competencies, 6 subject areas or modules have been designed, comprised by a total of 15 courses:

Practical training to work with students from 3 to 17 years old

Candidates must be in possession of an Official Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary School Education, Pedagogy or Psychology. Those graduates with a 4 year Licenciate/Bachelor´s Degree (Licenciatura) or Diplomados in Pedagogy, Psychology, Teacher Education (in its different specialties) and Psychopedagogy may also apply for admission.
The process for admission to this Official Master's Degree consists of the following procedures:
• Submission of the application: The application for admission must be submitted through the on-line admission portal within the period indicated for this purpose and in standardized form.
• Presentation of documentation: Candidates must submit all documents proving compliance with the requirements for access to the Degree to the Academic Management and Degrees Service at the University (General Registrar´s Office, or, “Servicio de Gestión Académica y Títulos (Secretaría General)”.
• Review of the Application: All applications for admission submitted are reviewed and candidates are evaluated according to:
- Academic transcript.
- Written account of the reasons behind the decision to enroll in this Degree, as well as availability during the timetable for courses and previous experience of candidates.
- Personal interview for admission to the Degree with the Director of the Master’s Degree (or the person delegated by the Director).

The Official Master's Degree in Psychopedagogy is aimed at Graduates in Early Childhood Education, Primary School Education, Pedagogy or Psychology, as well as graduates with a 4 year Licenciate/Bachelor´s Degree (Licenciatura) or Diplomados in Pedagogy, Psychology, Teacher Education (in its different specialties) and Psychopedagogy who wish to acquire advanced specialized training that allows them to diversify their possible professional roles to expand employment opportunities. In addition, active professionals with experience who aspire to updating their academic knowledge and developing new skills are ideal for this Degree . It is also aimed at students of the Official Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary and Pre-University Education (Specialization: Educational Counseling) who seek specific complementary training to work in areas of counseling and guidance in areas of Childhood and Primary School Education.
It is important to point out that, currently, to be able to gain access to public exams (“oposiciones”) in order to work on Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Teams (“Equipos de Orientación Educativa y Psicopedagógica”, EOEP) and in the Counseling/Guidance Departments in Institutions for Secondary Education, it is a mandatory requirement to complete the Official Master's Degree in Teacher in Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate Comillas offers the opportunity to enroll in the Postgraduate Dual Degree in Official Master's Degree in Teacher of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate and University Master's Degree in Psychopedagogy.

GENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
CG01 - Acquire and understand specialized knowledge with scientific evidence, both theoretical and practical, in the areas of educational counseling and guidance, attention to diversity, social transformation and personal skills of professionals in Psychopedagogy.
CG02 - Apply and connect knowledge acquired, to solve current educational challenges, which are multidisciplinary, and design relevant research.
CG03 - Assess and select the pedagogical and psychological paradigms that are most effective in each situation or context with an attitude of commitment, reflection and ethical responsibility.
CG04 – Transmit, in an understandable and accessible way, the relevant results of current scientific research and its theoretical foundations.
CG05 - Acquire methodological skills necessary to develop applied research in the area of Educational Psychology (Psychopedagogy).
CG06 - Assimilate the specialized knowledge acquired through pertinent bibliographic review and personal reflection.
CE01 - Carry out evaluation and submit Psychopedagogical reports, referral, and educational reports for students of 17 years or younger.
CE02 - Know the fundamentals of Psychobiology of Education as a discipline of Neuroscience.
CE03 - Design and apply measures to prevent possible atypical situations from developing.
CE04 - Design, apply and evaluate intervention and support programs derived from Psychopedagogical evaluation, in students up to 17 years old.
CE05 - Know the specific functions of a Psychopedagogue and the professional tasks of orientation, prevention, evaluation and intervention.
CE06 - Manage work groups and guide the team of teachers and tutors in actions of Psychopedagogical intervention.
CE07 - Coordinate the networking of an Educational Institution with the resources and services of the community.
CE08 - Know the functions and protocols for collaboration with Early Attention Teams, Specific Teams, Educational Counseling and Guidance and Psychopedagogical Teams.
CE09 - Plan support resources for families from the systemic model.
CE10 - Know specific training and support needs, taking into account family diversity in students 17 years old or younger.
CE11 - Collaborate with the Management Team in coordinated actions between the Institution and families.
CE12 - Prepare Educational Research projects and reports, in order to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process.
CE13 - Learn about relevant and current research in the field of Psychopedagogy and methods for the dissemination of these results.
CE14 - Design, implement and evaluate tools for the evaluation of teaching performance.
Profile of Graduates of the Degree:
Students who complete this Official Master's Degree program will obtain the official title of Official Master's Degree in Psychopedagogy.
Among the opportunities for professional employment for this program, the following may be highlighted:
• Coordination of projects or Psychopedagogical couseling on Commissions at educational institutions or of a social nature: innovation, coexistence, mediation in conflict resolution, attention to diversity or social and educational transformation
• Socio-Educational Resource Centers and other services aimed at caring for people with functional diversity.
• Psychopedagogical Services.
• Advising on educational and training plans at various types of institutions.
• Creation of support materials for teaching and training.
• Educational Research: Access to Doctoral studies.
• Participation in Community Development projects.
Classes will be taught in a face-to-face (in-person) format in the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m Class attendance is compulsory. Internships will take place in the morning and/or afternoon, with timetables that do not coincide with face-to-face classes.
Students must be available for a wide rango of hours in their daily timetable in order to be able to attend face-to-face classes and to carry out internships at the institutions which offer them to students.
