Master's Degree in Systemic Family Therapy

Teaching methods
Training activities will include: expository lessons; classroom group work; case studies; simulations and role playing; video viewing and analysis; reading and critical review of scientific literature; individual practical or theoretical work; theoretical or practical group work; tutoring sessions; literature search and review; participation in assessment programs and individual or group intervention; work on specific issues related to cases in which there have been interventions; personal study and work; monitoring of performance with patients; design and carrying out of theoretical and empirical research; psychological report writing; planning and reviewing individual intervention programs in groups or communities.

Assessment
The assessment systems used include: attendance and participation in class; assessment of classroom training activities; critical analysis of readings; oral case presentations; presentations of theoretical or practical work; examinations; theoretical and practical work on specific course themes; evaluation of readings; evaluation of assessment and intervention skills; psychological report writing and presentation and discussion of clinical cases.

This Master's Degree is based on the references to skills that are included in EUROPSY, which, in the case of the Systemic perspective, are the following:

Basic Skills in Systemic Therapy

Objective: to give students the knowledge to be able to intervene in family problems.

Activities will consist of the planning and analysis of individual and family therapy sessions from the systemic perspective, including the observation and participation as a therapist in them, under the direct or indirect supervision of a family therapist.

This Master's Degree enables students to work in different contexts of intervention (health, education, social, etc.), attending to individuals and/or their families from a perspective of broad and global understanding. It allows degree-holders to work in the clinical field, both in individual and family therapy, as well as in group interventions of a psycho-educational nature. Likewise, the systemic approach is ideal for networking with other professionals in the Social and Mental Health fields.

This Master's Degree has a duration of one year.
Beginning: January 2020
End: December 2020
Both theoretical classes and Master´s Degree internships are carried out on two mornings and/or two afternoons-evenings every week, respectively.
