“It is understood that human beings are part of a system of relationships”

What is the Master´s Degree in Systemic Family Therapy?

The Master's Degree in Systemic Family Therapy is a program aimed at understanding the human being as part of a system of relations in constant interaction and evolution. In relation to intervening in any type of problem with children or adults, it is of fundamental importance to have a broad perspective, which takes into account the mutual influence of individuals and the different systems of which they form a part or that intervene in the problem: current partner or family, nuclear or extended family, educational or professional context, health contexts, social services, etc.

This Master's Degree has a clear professional orientation that provides the student with the ability to work in different intervention contexts (Health, Educational, Social, etc.), attending to individuals and/or their families with wide-reaching and global understanding.

This Degree puts the focus on practicing professionals and is designed for work in different contexts of intervention

Those students who wish to work as professionals in Psychology in the Health and Clinical fields must obtain a Professional Master's Degree in General Health Psychology (MPGS) or acquire the specialization by obtaining the Qualification for Psychologists Specializing in Clinical Psychology (PIR, as per the Spanish acronym), in accordance with the regulation of the profession of General Health Psychologist. (Seventh Additional Provision of the General Act on Public Health, of October 2011, concerning the regulation of Psychology in the area of Health). Both options offer comprehensive and extensive training in general aspects of work as a Clinical or Health Psychologist. However, a large number of students wish to obtain a more specific and encompassing training in the field of Systemic Intervention.
