“These studies are designed to acquire a deep understanding of the Human Being”

What is the Master's Degree in Experiential Humanist Psychotherapy and in Emotion Focused Therapy?

The Master's Degree in Experiential Humanist Psychotherapy and in Emotion Focused Therapy is aimed at Psychologists who wish to specialize in Humanistic and Emotion-Focused Psychotherapy in relevant fields of work and who are interested in acquiring an extensive understanding of the Human Being as well as obtaining effective tools to bring about emotional change

Emotion-Focused Psychotherapy has become a leading field of internationally-renowned Humanistic Psychotherapy. This is the reason that the Master's Degree in Humanistic-Experiential Psychotherapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy is designed to be in line with the three levels of training established by the team of Leslie Greenberg at the York University Psychology Clinic, for the purpose of laying the academic foundations for internationally-recognized training.

This is the only Master´s Degree in Spain endorsed by the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy

Those students who wish to work as professionals in Psychology in the Health and Clinical fields must obtain a Professional Master's Degree in General Health Psychology (MPGS) or acquire the specialization by obtaining the Qualification for Psychologists Specializing in Clinical Psychology (PIR, as per the Spanish acronym), in accordance with the regulation of the profession of General Health Psychologist. (Seventh Additional Provision of the General Act on Public Health, of October 2011, concerning the regulation of Psychology in the area of Health). Both options offer comprehensive and extensive training in general aspects of work as a Clinical or Health Psychologist . However, a large number of students wish to obtain a more specific and encompassing training in the humanistic psychotherapeutic models.
