Apply for a user/visitor card

If you are part of the university community and you want to get or renew your card, you can do it from this link.

If you have no connection with the University and you need to access the Library services for professional or research reasons, you must apply for a visitor's card.

You will have to justify the nature of your research work or your interest in accessing the Library, using the visitor's card application form.

Once the application has been approved, the visitor's card will be processed:

  • Annual fee: 27€.
  • Method of payment: By credit card directly at the cash desk.
  • Opening hours: From Monday to Thursday: from 9am to 5pm. Friday: from 9am to 2 pm.

Documentation required. After paying the corresponding fee, applicants may collect their user card at any of the library counters on presentation of the following documents:

  • ID card or passport.
  • Proof of having paid the requested amount.

NB: Lecturers and researchers belonging to research centres, scientific institutions or higher education institutions that have collaboration agreements with the University will not be required to pay a fee.

Acquisitions

Lending, interlibrary loan and bibliographic information

  • In order to use this service you must be registered in our database. Once you have your username and passwordyou must approve the data protection policy. Here we help you to do it
  • If you need to borrow, reserve or renew a book you can do it from our catalogue. Here we explain how to do it.
  • Journal articles will be requested through this form and will be sent to the user by e-mail.
  • If you need access to documents that are not in the Library, you can request them through our interlibrary loan service or the Library User Service (CAU). You can also do it through this e-mail address.
  • If you need bibliographic information you can contact us through our website or by writing to this email address.

Services for students with disabilities

Accessibility to spaces. Adapted access doors and lifts.

Personalised attention when consulting documents and bibliographic information. Library staff carry out the necessary searches in the catalogue and in the rest of the available resources, facilitating the consultation of documents.

Loans. The duration of the loan will be flexible according to your needs.

Training. The Library offers the possibility of courses adapted to the information needs of disabled students.

Distance services. Requests for books and the renewal of loans can be made by telephone and it will not be necessary to go to the counter to collect them. The Library will send them directly to your home address by post. Likewise, any person authorised by the student may collect them on their behalf.

Our facilities and spaces.

  • To access any of our reading rooms you need to present your University card.
  • You have three service points. Check our locations.
  • Before going to one of our reading rooms you can check their occupancy.

Access from off campus.

To access the Library's databases and Discoverer remotely or from outside your WIFI environment, you need to authenticate to consult most of the resources. We explain how here.

Support for research and scientific work
