Interlibrary Loan

The Document Access/Interlibrary Loan Service offers you the possibility of requesting originals on loan or reproductions of documents that are not in the Comillas Pontifical University Library's collection.

This service is open to the entire University Community (professors, students, doctoral students, non-teaching staff). Similarly, our Library provides documents to any external institution that requests them.

Through the Interlibrary Loan Service we can complete the development of the collections of each library, but not replace them. Therefore, original documents that have been recently published should not be requested, especially Spanish documents or documents that are easy to acquire.

It is always necessary to check the Catalogue before requesting any document.

Management is centralised at the Cantoblanco headquarters, where the coordination of Interlibrary Loan has been established at the University.

By way of summary, the procedure established by the Interlibrary Loan Regulations is as follows:

REQUESTS: Documents should be requested individually and with all the bibliographic data possible for their subsequent identification (Author, title, publishing city, year, pages, ISBN, ISSN, etc.) to the following e-mail address: accesoaldocumento@comillas.edu

National tariffs

The rates applicable to the Service are those established by the Spanish University Libraries Network (Rebiun).

  • Copies of documents up to 40 pages(*): 3.30€ + VAT = ½ IFLA coupon (VAT included).
  • Each block of 10 additional copies: 1€.
  • Loan of originals (for each physical volume): €8 = 1 IFLA voucher

(*) The supply of copies is subject to and not exempt from VAT, whatever the medium (photocopies, pdf pages, tiff pages, etc.). The loan of originals is exempt from VAT.

Fees are independent of the means of delivery and the medium in which the original document is sent, it being recommended that the delivery be in the form of an electronic file (where a pdf or tiff page is equivalent to a photocopy). The charge is per photocopy, whether one or more pages fit on the same photocopy.

International rates

The cost established by the supplying body shall apply.

Internal procedure

When requests come from a department, payment for the service shall be made by means of an internal debit note to that department, with the prior authorisation of the person in charge.

When requests come from private users, payment may be made in cash, bank transfer, money order or nominative cheque.
