The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences obtains recognition from the International Baccalaureate Organization
The Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education will allow teachers to be certified for the International Baccalaureate without additional credits from the 2025-2026 academic year
30 April 2025
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS) has been recognised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), a distinction that will allow the students of the Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education to be certified as teachers of the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
Thanks to this recognition, from the 2025-2026 academic year, Master's students will be able to obtain the IB Certificate in teaching and learning within their specialism without the need to take additional credits. This certification is a competitive advantage when it comes to accessing teaching positions in schools that teach the IB Diploma Programme, as it avoids the additional training normally required to do so.
Students who opt for the IB modality when enrolling in the master's degree will take the General Didactics subject adapted to the IB model, as well as part of their specialization adapted to the IB curriculum. In addition, they will do a Thesis with specific characteristics and will carry out their internship in an IBO-approved centre.
This new possibility reinforces the training of future teachers by aligning their studies with the current demands of the global education system.
