EUEF presents research on basketball injuries at the 20th International SEMED Congress
The event brought together national and international specialists to discuss the latest advances in Sports Medicine and Sports Science .

The San Juan de Dios-Comillas School of Nursing and Physiotherapy (EUEF) actively participated in the 20th International Congress of the Spanish Society of Sports Medicine (SEMED), held at the College of Physicians of Vizcaya from 27 to 29 November under the slogan "Bilbao, effort and sport".
At this meeting, Raúl Coto, lecturer at the EUEF, participated in the "Free Communications" block, in which he presented the results of his thesis, which deals with the differences in the rate of force development (RFD) between basketball players according to sex.
This project, in which professors Néstor Pérez, María Jesús Martínez, Lucía Cuéllar and Juan Manuel Arribas also participate,provides keys to improve injury prevention protocols in basketball and other physically demanding sports, and is part of the research line in biomechanics and sports physiotherapy of the EUEF on anterior cruciate ligament injuries in athletes.
This event, which brings together professionals and institutions, aims to encourage the exchange of experiences and knowledge in order to promote the latest advances in this speciality.
