ONEXED, Comillas, launches the 2026/2027 academic year of the DBA in Management and Technology

On 25 September, ONEXED – School of Executive and Continuing Education in Comillas held the opening ceremony for the 2026/2027 academic year of the DBA in Management and Technology at the Arrupe Campus, at an event attended by participants, alumni, lecturers and university representatives.

As well as marking the start of the new academic year, the event provided an opportunity to share some of the Program’s progress over the past year and to reflect on one of the issues currently having the greatest impact on the management of businesses and organisations: the development of artificial intelligence and its economic and social consequences.

The event was hosted by Cristina Domínguez and Carlos Bellón, co-directors of the DBA, and began with a welcome address by Pablo García, director of Comillas ONEXED. The co-directors then reviewed the past academic year and the Program’s progress.

The inaugural lecture was delivered by Ignacio de la Torre, partner and chief economist at Arcano Partners, and introduced by Raquel Redondo, vice-dean of ICADE.

Under the title ‘The Impact of AI on Our Economy and Society’, De la Torre addressed the scope of artificial intelligence and some of the transformations it is bringing about in the economy, organisations and society. This is a topic closely linked to the DBA’s work on applied research and the analysis of technological changes from a business management perspective.

The opening ceremony also included a segment dedicated to the experiences of those who have already completed the programme. Alumni Javier Carbajo and Philippe Févre shared with the audience their journey through the DBA programme and some of the insights they gained during that process.

During the ceremony, certificates were also awarded to participants who had successfully completed the Advanced Program of the DBA in Management and Technology, one of the milestones in their academic journey.

The day concluded with a speech by the Rector of Comillas Pontifical University and a cocktail reception, which provided an opportunity for participants, alumni, lecturers and guests to continue their discussions.

The launch of the 2026/2027 academic year thus builds on a forum where professional experience, research and reflection on the impact of technology converge around issues that form a direct part of the senior management agenda.
