From 19 to 21 February 2024, the XXXIII Conference for Episcopal Delegates and Directors of Secretariats of Interconfessional Relations took place in Madrid. With the slogan "Prayer in interreligious dialogue: being together to pray", the president of the Subcommission, Bishop Francisco Conesa of Solsona, opened the Conference. He was joined by the President of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, Card. Miguel Ángel Ayuso, who spoke about the 40th anniversary of the document Dialogue and Mission (1984). They concluded with a talk by Bishop Jesús Pulido on prayer and interreligious dialogue. There were also speeches from the Buddhist Union of Spain, the Hindu Federation of Spain, the University of Malaga and the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary. For her part, Professor Carmen Márquez, PhD, participated in the Conference in her capacity as Consultant to the Episcopal Subcommission for Interconfessional Relations and Interreligious Dialogue of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
Carmen Márquez Beunza, Professor at the Faculty of Theology, Department of Dogmatic and Fundamental Theology, is PhD in Theology, an expert in ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, Head of Studies of the evening Bachelor of Theology Programme (University Theology for Postgraduates TUP) and, since 2021, Consultant of the Episcopal Subcommission for Interfaith Relations and Interreligious Dialogue of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
