Global Alumni 2025: Comillas flourishes with its alumni
Alumnni packed the Aula Magna for the annual reunion celebrating growth, community and personal development.

Comillas has many good things. Nearly 500 alumni attended the Global Alumni 2025, the long-awaited annual meeting in which, under the slogan "Comillas flourishes", the institutional and personal rebirth was discussed, as well as the strengthening of the alumni network.
In this sense, the Rector of the University, Antonio Allende SJ, highlighted the essential role of the alumni in the present and future of the University. He said that they "are a big family, a living network of more than 50,000 professionals who share a common origin, a comprehensive education and a commitment to the values that define us". The Rector also underlined the impact of the recently launched Strategic Plan, in which a high value is placed on the contribution of those who studied in the classrooms of Comillas. Thus, Allende asked the attendees to continue to be "an example of quality", not without reminding them that they "are at the centre of our transformation project".
Likewise, the Rector encouraged them to participate in the endowment, an endowment fund that, as in the great North American universities, "will allow us to ensure the sustainability of our mission to continue to attract the best students regardless of their economic situation; to recruit and retain the highest level faculty, and to promote cutting-edge research". And he reviewed many of the achievements of the past academic year, mentioned the expansion of the university with the new buildings and stressed the importance of AI. On this, he stressed that Comillas is not only part of the AI Alliance, but that "we are pioneers in the development of ethical AI with an Office of Artificial Intelligence for its integral adoption throughout the university".
For his part, the master of ceremonies was Samuel Fernández Iruzubieta, a student of the Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession and alumni of the class of 2025. During the presentation, he assured that "to be an alumni is to continue a conversation that began in the classroom and that never ends" and emphasised that "this event reminds us that Comillas flourishes when we do it together, as a community". In this sense, María Consuelo Rodríguez, one of the alumni who attended the event, assured that Comillas has provided her with "training and knowledge" and "a community of people with common goals". Another of the attendees, Ester García Abadillo, also mentioned the values that the university transmits and the possibility of "sharing experiences".
The celebration was attended by Carmen Giménez, alumni and president of Run4You, who spoke about self-improvement and personal flourishing based on two verbs: to live and to love. She shared with all the guests her story of struggle after becoming paraplegic as a result of an episode of domestic violence and the subsequent loss of one of her newborn sons. "Bruno was born and died, and he taught me that life is above all else, and I decided that we would live it together, and I wanted him to walk the streets and the world, and that's how I started running," she said emotionally.
With this meeting, in which the attendees enjoyed a multi-sensory experience with live music, wine tasting offered by MACC and Bodegas ENATE, and an original flower bar with flowers linked to the values of Comillas, the university reinforces its commitment to its graduates, promoting networks of collaboration, entrepreneurship and continuous training.
