He was vice-rector of finance at Comillas between 1988 and 1990

Father Juan Miguel Aguirre de Solano, SJ, died on 18 June 2024 in Alcalá de Henares. Aguirre, who began his academic career as a lecturer in Statistics at ICADE in 1968, was Vice Rector of Finance at Comillas Pontifical University from 1988 to 1990. He was then Chairman of the Commission for Financial Aid to Students from 1990 to 1993, and Secretary of the ICAI Board of Trustees Foundation from 1990 to 1996. He worked at the university until 2004.
Born in Barcelona on 7 May 1934, Aguirre joined the Society of Jesus on 14 August 1951, was ordained priest on 15 July 1965 and took his final vows on 22 April 1972.
He served as a teacher, prefect of studies, rector, administrator and chaplain in various institutions and cities throughout his life. He spent his last days praying for the Church and the Society in Alcalá de Henares.
The funeral will take place on Thursday 20 June at 10:15 am in the chapel of the community of Alcalá, and the burial at 12:00 pm in the Sacramental of San Isidro, Madrid.
