EUPeace Internships

Internships within the EUPeace Alliance

The main objective of international internships is to provide students and/or recent university graduates with work experience that enriches their curriculum before entering the world of work, as well as to gain an experience of autonomy in another country, learning about different cultures and a real and functional increase in their language skills.

Incoming Students

Students interested in doing an internship at Comillas Pontifical University must be enrolled at a university in the EUPeace Alliance.

Internships at Comillas can take one of two forms:

  • Curricular internships
  • Extracurricular internships

Different procedures may apply in some faculties. You can also contact your tutor or internship coordinator. These coordinators will offer guidance on the relevant regulations and procedures.

Outgoing Students

If you wish to do an international internship at one of the EUPeace Alliance universities, remember that the internship search process involves following two parallel procedures

  1. Host universityCheck the information on the available offers and the application processes of the host university here
  1. Comillas: Follow the internal steps necessary for the authorisation and, if applicable, the recognition of the internship. If you are applying for an Erasmus grant, check with the International Relations Service for specific requirements and deadlines.

Internships at Comillas

Students who wish to undertake an internship through Comillas Pontifical University must be enrolled at one of the universities in the alliance and be participating in a mobility programme at Comillas. We also strongly recommend that, for most internships, students have an excellent command of Spanish, as companies usually require a high level in this language. For information on enrolment, please consult the EUPeace mobility portal.

All students who belong to one of the universities in the alliance and are studying at Comillas can contact the Career Guidance Service for individual and group advice on career opportunities. The team also offers support in using the internship and job platform, where current job offers are posted.

In addition, students can contact their tutor or internship coordinator, depending on the faculty in which they are enrolled. These coordinators will provide guidance on the applicable regulations and procedures, whether the student wishes to undertake a curricular or extracurricular internship.

Curricular Internships

Curricular international internships are academic activities integrated into the Study Plan and are compulsory or optional depending on the student's studies .

Students must be enrolled in the corresponding subject and maintain direct communication with their academic internship coordinator, who will supervise the process and guarantee the recognition of credits for successfully completed internships.

Extracurricular Internships

Extracurricular internships are voluntary and do not form part of the corresponding Study Plan, although they may be included in the European Diploma Supplement (SET).

They also require students to be enrolled at Comillas Pontifical University, and international students can only participate if they are already doing an academic stay for other reasons (such as exchange programmes or double degrees). In this case, the Internship Office (OPE) will advise the student on the process.

Process to follow in Comillas

In the following documents, you will find the complete and detailed process, with the steps to follow for curricular and extracurricular internships at Comillas .

Application for Erasmus Traineeship Grant

Once the internship has been registered in the EPO system, the SRI will assess whether it meets the requirements to apply for an Erasmus Internship grant. If so, you will receive an automated message telling you to contact the person in charge of internships at the SRI to start the management of the grant. These grants require a minimum duration of two months in a company or organisation in another participating country.

*Exceptional cases:In the case of Bachelor's Degrees in Education, there is the possibility of a one-month curricular exchange placement in Pilsen, in the Czech Republic. This exchange will lead to ECTS recognition, but is not eligible for the Erasmus+ grant, as it lasts less than 2 months.

For general guidance, you can also contact the EUPeace team at eupeace@comillas.edu.
