The DULCINEA project, winner of the 1st Edition of the Technological Innovation in Psychology Awards

The Colegio Oficial de la Psicoloía de Madrid has awarded the project "DULCINEA (DUbbing Language-therapy CINEma-based in Aphasia post-Stroke). Dubbing tools in post-stroke aphasia recovery", whose main researcher is Nereida Bueno Guerra, lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS), in the 1st Edition of the Technological Innovation in Psychology awards.
The jury unanimously chose the work led by the lecturer at Comillas CIHS out of a total of 18 projects presented, recognising the development process and the innovative strategy proposed for dealing with and helping people to recover from aphasia after suffering a stroke.
This award, endowed with 3,000 euros, seeks to strengthen collaboration between research and practice, facilitating the development of innovative technology-based solutions in the field of Psychology, in any of its areas of development and for any objective of psychological well-being of the general population and/or specific groups.
The DULCINEA project, coordinated by Blanca Fuentes, head of the Neurology section at the Hospital Universitario La Paz, uses dubbing techniques in patients with aphasia, one of the main consequences of suffering a stroke, to try to get them to recover everyday words.
