Structure
The E-1 Joint Global Program includes the Official Bachelor´s Degree in Law and a Master´s Degree in Law (LL.M.) at a University in the USA, France or China, and two Comillas private certifications, the Diploma in Communication Skills and Competences and the Diploma in Personal and Professional Skills. The duration of the program is four academic years, with a total of 267 ECTS credits, which are distributed as follows: First Year, 60 ECTS credits; Second Year, 69 ECTS credits; Third Year, 69 ECTS credits; and Fourth Year, 69 ECTS credits.
As in the rest of the programs at ICADE, E-1 presents an innovative structure in the study plan, aimed at combining a guarantee of acquiring fundamental knowledge for the Bachelor´s Degree in Law, together with a margin of personalized course planning of their studies by students. In this way, the first three years of the program are common to all students, who progress in a similar fashion in attaining the knowledge and fundamental skills of the Bachelor´s Degree in Law. During the final year of the program, students are permitted to decide how to permanently complete their studies with a certain degree of autonomy in choosing their credits.
For this purpose, students can enroll in an LL.M. Program during the 4th Year of the Bachelor´s Degree in Law. at an accredited foreign University in the USA, France or China. Alternatively, during the first semester of the 4th Year of the E-1 Program, students can choose to continue their educational training at ICADE in the Bachelor's Degree, or to carry out the same semester in a Faculty of Law at one of the many Universities with which ICADE has exchange agreements. In the latter case, the 4th Year courses are redistributed between the two semesters in order to optimize the recognition of the courses taken during the semester of exchange and to ensure adequate continuity in learning during the second semester. In the same way, during the first semester of the 4th Year of the E-1 program, students can choose to carry out an extended period of internship (thus extending their internships from 6 to 30 ECTS credits).
With the E-1 Program, students also acquire the Diploma in Communicative Skills and Studies in Foreign Languages, a Comillas private diploma that certifies a high degree of competence and proficiency in the English language, through language training subjects, as well as courses in English in various subjects corresponding to the disciplines that make up our programs.
Finally, in order to ensure the well-rounded nature of the comprehensive training of students in their academic curricular field, E-1 students take a Diploma in Personal, Communication and Professional Skills, a Comillas private diploma that will allow them to acquire complementary competences and skills, those of the Bachelor´s Degree in Law that make up the program, which will help them in the further development of a better and more wide-reaching professional practice.
