Comillas Pontifical University has approved the institutional declaration for a healthy university. An initiative that reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of wellbeing and sustainability.
This initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the health promotion strategies of the National Health System and the principles of the Red Española de Universidades Promotoras de la Salud (REUPS), of which Comillas is a member. It also responds to current legislation on university matters and is inspired by the values of the Society of Jesus, integrating them into its Strategic Plan.
The declaration establishes six key principles:
- Prevention and health promotion, encouraging healthy habits and reducing risk factors.
- Integral wellbeing, addressing physical, emotional, professional, spiritual and intellectual balance.
- Community care, promoting a safe and developmental environment for all.
- Health education and training, providing knowledge and tools for self-care.
- Healthy campus, guaranteeing university spaces that favour active life and wellbeing.
- Accompaniment, ensuring psycho-pedagogical and social support for the entire community.
Through this initiative, Comillas is committed to developing specific actions to promote physical, mental and emotional health, strengthening the culture of wellbeing in its academic and social environment.
