The team from the Faculty of Law (Comillas ICADE), made up of students Carmen Pérez, Celia Rojas, Alberto Martín, Gadea Rodríguez and Gabriel de la Rica, received the award for the "Most Innovative Solution in the Justice Sector" thanks to their SOLUTIO platform. This tool is designed to facilitate mediation in legal disputes, offering an accessible, safe and sustainable alternative to the traditional judicial system and current alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The team's success was made possible thanks to the support of the mentoring group led by Albi Rodríguez, coordinator of the Legaltech-Garrigues ICADE Observatory, and composed of María Marelza, lawyer at Garrigues and senior associate in Dispute Resolution, Litigation and Arbitration, and María Teresa Vidal, consultant in digital issues and Legaltech.
At the ceremony, opened by Sofía Puente, Secretary General for Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service, the finalist teams were presented. Iñigo Navarro, co-director of the Garrigues-ICADE Legaltech Observatory and lecturer at the university, introduced the platform and highlighted the importance of involving young people in developing solutions for a fairer future.
In addition to the recognition of the Comillas team, the University of Granada team, JUSTIC.IA FÁCIL, was awarded in the technology category. Congratulations on their great solution!
DATAthon Justice 2024 is a legal innovation competition in which 40 students from all over Spain have participated with innovative proposals to improve the Public Justice Service through different technological projects.
It is an honour and a source of pride to have such committed students at Comillas. Congratulations on this achievement, although we know that it is only the beginning of many more.
