Objectives and methodology

The course, Specialist in Didactic Resources and Evaluation for English Language Teaching in the School Classroom, is given in collaboration with Escuelas Católicas de Madrid (ECM).

This course is designed to provide quality training for language assistants, showing them how to plan classes, classroom management, the different methods of teaching English grammar and preparation for the Cambridge exams.

The objectives of this specialist course are as follows:

  • In-depth knowledge of the functions of student teaching assistants and how they can develop them in an educational centre.
  • Knowledge of different didactic resources for learning the English language at different educational stages.
  • To favour dynamics in the educational relationship between the role of the teacher and the student assistant for the improvement of teaching in which they can manage and exploit classroom events and interactions.
  • Deepen the developmental approach to teaching and learning in which subjects are taught and studied by means of a language that is not the learner's mother tongue.
  • To study in depth how the Cambridge exams assess students according to their educational level at Secondary, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training stages.

This specialist is based on an active and participative methodology. The teaching modality will be blended learning, completing the classroom training with training on the online platform and with the presentation, at the end of the course, of a personal project.
