Syllabus

The Summer School, organised by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in collaboration with Marburg University and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, offers a unique opportunity for students and practitioners from across Europe to engage with the crucial topic of the EU’s Neighbourhood Policy.  Over the course of one week, participants will explore the foundation and evolution of the EU’s relationship with neighbouring countries and how current global geopolitical changes are making it even more crucial to the security and stability of the continent.

The programme will feature senior representatives from the three EU institutions, foreign and security policy practitioners and renowned academic scholars. The goal is to provide knowledge and practical insights from the EU and the national-level, both within and outside the bloc. Additionally, students will  undertake field visits to some EU and Spanish institutions in Madrid.

The Summer School is a unique opportunity for students to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas, fostering collaboration and understanding among young European minds at a critical moment for our societies. With Europe facing a range of complex challenges, the course aims to  deepen participants’ understanding of EU policies while offering networking opportunities with peers and experts alike. The programme promises to be an enriching experience for students committed to shaping the future of Europe and its relations with its neighbours.
