Summer course: Pain Management


The subject of pain management covers a wide range of health science disciplines. The main objective is to introduce you to the methods, procedures, models, techniques and actions commonly used in pain management, in order to provide you with a comprehensive vision, based on scientific evidence, from the different professional fields of the health sciences.

Why study this course?

  • You will identify the physical and emotional components involved in the different pain processes.
  • You will learn the principles and theories of physical agents and biomechanics and their applications in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal pain.
  • You will study the different therapeutic options for pain management in patients with advanced and terminal illness.
  • You will learn about the evidence-based practice model, neurophysiology, the diagnostic process and objectification tools related to pain.

Course description

  • Duration: 1 week.
  • Credits: 2 ECTS.
  • Language: Spanish.
  • Place: San Juan de Dios University School - Ciempozuelos and San Rafael Health Sciences Campus.
  • Requirements: Graduate in Nursing or equivalent, final year student in Nursing or equivalent, Graduate in Physiotherapy or equivalent, final year student in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
