Held on 13 and 14 June in Vercelli (Italy), the International Conference: Authorship and spiritual prose in the Golden Age. Writing process and re-writing in the asceticism and mysticism of the 16th-17th centuries. It was organised by the University of Eastern Piedmont, in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Spanish Embassy.
This Congress was inaugurated by our Professor Juan Antonio Marcos, PhD, with his lecture entitled "Introspection and performativity in the mystical discourse: Teresa of Jesus", where he delved into the writings of the Saint and her mystical language.
Professor Juan Antonio Marcos is a PhD in Spanish Philology (Linguistics), from the Department of Moral Theology and Praxis of Christian life, and is an expert in Carmelite mysticism and spiritual language. He is currently deputy director of CITeS-University of Mysticism (Avila).
