The Executive Doctoral Programme also awarded intermediate diplomas to the first year candidates
The DBA in Management and Technology initiated its fourth year in a ceremony in which the intermediate Advanced Programme in Management and Technology diplomas were also awarded to the first year candidates.
Words of welcome from the Rector of the University, Enrique Sanz, SJ, the Director of Comillas ICAI, Antonio Muñoz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE), Teresa Corzo, were followed by the opening lecture for the academic year: “Unlocking the Next Generation of Fresh: Agriscience and Biotechnology to feed the future generations healthier”.
This lecture was delivered by Álvaro Muñoz and Pablo Sánchez, CEO and COO respectively of AM Fresh, a fruit and vegetable company from the Region of Murcia. The guest entrepreneurs explained how they use innovation and technology to hybridise new varieties of citrus fruits and grapes, improving their preservation and nutritional properties. The Co-Director of the DBA, Javier Morales, explained the challenges and changes in this new course for the Executive Doctorate Programme. These include the change in classes to combine hybrid weekend courses with intensive face-to-face weekday courses.
Javier Morales, together with the other Co-Director of the programme, Carlos Bellón, awarded the Advanced Programme in Management and Technology diplomas to the first year candidates. This diploma is awarded after successfully passing the first phase of the DBA. The candidates will then begin the final part of the programme, which includes the presentation and defence of their DBA thesis.

It is a joint programme of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Comillas ICADE) and the School of Engineering (Comillas ICAI).
